Get Record

Get Record activity for Epic FHIR, retrieving one record of a supported resource by the FHIR ID Epic assigned to it.

Description

Retrieves a single record from your Epic instance by resource and FHIR ID.

Use this activity when the FHIR ID is already known. To find that ID from a business identifier such as a medical record number (MRN) or a patient name, use List Records first, and then pass the returned ID to Get Record.

Project compatibility

Windows | Cross-platform

Configuration

  • Connection — The Epic FHIR connection established in Integration Service. Access the dropdown menu to choose, add, or manage connections.
  • Select object — The FHIR resource to retrieve, such as Patient, Observation, Encounter or MedicationRequest. For the resources this activity covers, see Resource coverage.
  • Id — The FHIR ID Epic assigned to the record, such as erXuFYUfucBZaryVksYEcMg3. This is Epic's own identifier for the record, not a business identifier such as an MRN.

Additional properties

Common
  • Display name — The display name for this activity.
  • Continue on error — Specifies if the automation should continue even when this activity throws an error. Supports Boolean values.
Output

The activity returns one record carrying the fields defined for the selected resource.

Fields typed as standard FHIR datatypes appear as a single untyped object with no child fields, so their contents are read from the activity's raw JSON output. See Known limitations.
