Deleting files in Files
Remove files from your Peak data lake using Files. Deleting obsolete files helps maintain storage efficiency and keeps your data lake organized.
A file can be permanently deleted from its action menu or from the file details screen.
Prerequisites
Before deleting files, ensure you have the following:
- You have delete permissions for the target file.
Steps
Follow these steps to delete a file:
- In Peak, open Manage and select Files.
- Open the folder that contains the file.
- Delete the file using one of these options:
- Open the file action menu and select Delete.
- Open the file details screen and select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion. Deleted files cannot be recovered.
During deletion
While a file has Deleting status, other action menu items for that file are disabled until deletion completes.
Result
The file is permanently deleted from the data lake and cannot be recovered.
