Database connectors
Database connectors enable you to extract data directly from relational databases into Peak for analysis. These connectors support automated data extraction based on SQL queries or table replication.
Available database connectors
Peak supports connectors for the following database systems:
- MySQL - Connect to MySQL databases (port 5432 by default).
- PostgreSQL - Connect to PostgreSQL databases (port 5432 by default).
- Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) - Connect to SQL Server instances (port 1433 by default).
- Oracle Database - Connect to Oracle databases (port 1521 by default).
- Amazon Redshift - Extract data from Redshift clusters (port 5439 by default).
- Snowflake - Query data from Snowflake data warehouses (port 443 by default).
Database connectors vs. Data Bridge
Database connectors and Data Bridge serve different purposes:
- Database connectors - Extract specific datasets from databases using SQL queries. Best for pulling subsets of data or running custom transformations before ingestion.
- Data Bridge - Connects your entire data warehouse or data lake to Peak for broad data access. Best for enterprise-scale data infrastructure integration.
Use database connectors when you need targeted data extraction from operational databases. Use Data Bridge when you want Peak to access your centralized data warehouse or data lake.
Connection requirements
All database connectors require these prerequisites:
- Network connectivity from Peak to your database server
- Database credentials with read access
- Firewall rules allowing Peak's IP addresses
- SSL/TLS configuration for secure connections (recommended)
