UiPath CLI
What the UiPath CLI does for Maestro Automate, and where to find its installation steps and command reference.
The UiPath CLI, uip, is a command-line tool for working with UiPath from a terminal. Coding agents use it to create, run, and deploy workflows for you, and the VS Code extension uses it in the background. You rarely type uip commands yourself, but the CLI must be installed for a coding agent or VS Code to work with Maestro Automate.
The UiPath CLI guide covers it in full:
- About UiPath CLI: what the CLI does and how it fits with coding agents.
- Installing UiPath CLI: install it on macOS, Linux, or Windows.
- Authentication: sign in to your UiPath account from the terminal.
- Skills: the UiPath skills that teach a coding agent how to build workflows.
- Reference overview: every command and option.
Next steps
- Set up your coding agent: install the CLI and skills, and sign in, in three steps.
- Build in VS Code: set up the VS Code extension, which uses the CLI.
- Community: ask questions and share workflows with other builders on the UiPath Forum.
