Add Sheet

Add Sheet activity that adds a new sheet to a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet.

UiPath.LibreOfficeCalc.Activities.AddSheet

Note:

The LibreOffice Calc activities package is available in preview.

Description

Adds a new sheet to the specified spreadsheet.

This activity adds a new sheet to a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet and returns the resulting sheet name. You can specify a name or let the activity generate a default one, and you can control what happens if a sheet with the same name already exists.

Note:

This package requires LibreOffice to be installed, and runs on Windows x64 or macOS 13.3 or later on Apple Silicon.

Project compatibility

Windows | Cross-platform

Configuration

You can configure the activity and its properties as follows:

  • File path - The path to the spreadsheet file (.ods, .xlsx, .csv). The field also accepts a file resource through the Use resource file option in the plus menu, which replaces this field with Resource file. When the activity is placed inside a Use Spreadsheet Document scope, this field is replaced by Spreadsheet document, which is bound to the document opened by the scope.
  • Sheet name - The name of the new sheet. If empty, a default name is generated, for example, Sheet1, Sheet2.
Note:

For more details on the plus menu options, see Designing automations.

Properties panel

Options
  • If the sheet already exists - The conflict resolution behavior when a sheet with the same name already exists. Select one of the following options:
    • Don't replace - Fails if an existing sheet is found. This is the default option.
    • Replace - Replaces the existing sheet.
    • Auto rename - Automatically renames the new sheet by appending a number.
  • Password - The password to open a password-protected spreadsheet file. Leave empty for unprotected files.
Output
  • Sheet name - The resulting name of the newly added sheet. Differs from the requested name when it was left empty (auto-generated) or when the conflict resolution appended a suffix.
