Test Cloud admin guide
Tenant unit allocation defines how much capacity is reserved for each tenant and how much can be consumed before drawing from the shared organization units. Organization Administrators can assign, adjust, or remove allocations at any time from the Tenant Level view of the new unit consumption experience.
Prerequisites
- You must be an Organization Administrator.
- The target tenant must be active. Disabled and deleted tenants cannot be allocated units. In the Tenant Allocations section, disabled tenants appear with their name and deleted tenants appear with their tenant ID. Neither can be opened, so the Edit Allocation option is not reachable for them.
Allocating or editing units for a tenant
-
Go to Admin at the organization level and select Licenses.
-
Select the Consumables tab.
-
On the unit type card you want to manage, select View Usage (Preview).
-
In the Tenant Allocations section, locate the card for the tenant you want to update.
-
Select View Tenant on the tenant card to open the Tenant Level view.
-
Select the Edit icon next to the Allocated label in the summary cards.
The Edit Allocation dialog opens and displays the following:
- The tenant's current allocation
- The units available in the organization for reallocation
-
Enter the new allocation amount in the New Allocation field.
The modal validates your input in real time. You cannot allocate more than the available units in the organization plus the tenant's existing allocation. Also, you cannot allocate less than the already consumed value on the tenant.
-
Select Save Changes to confirm the change.
Result: The tenant's allocation is updated immediately.
Removing a tenant's allocation
To remove a tenant's allocation entirely, follow the steps above and set the New Allocation amount to 0. The tenant will continue to consume from the organization level units if units are available.
