What's new
Configurable review completion statuses
Administrators can now define the set of completion statuses that a reviewer chooses from when they finish reviewing a summary. Previously, every review ended in either Approved or Rejected.
Workflows are created and managed on the new Admin > Workflow management page, where each workflow holds its own list of completion statuses. A workflow is assigned per template, from Edit template > … > Advanced settings > Workflow mapping. The same workflow can be assigned to more than one template, so organizations that run distinct review processes can standardize each one independently.
Two constraints apply:
- Only Completed review states are customizable. Earlier states in the review lifecycle, such as queued and ready for review, are fixed.
- The built-in Default review workflow provides the original Approved and Rejected statuses and cannot be modified.
For more information, see Manage review workflows.
Added September 4, 2026: This feature was released on July 31 but was not included in the release notes at the time.
Reviewers complete a review with a status
The clinical review detail view no longer offers separate Approve and Reject actions. Reviewers now select Complete review and choose a completion status from those defined by the template's assigned workflow, optionally adding review notes that are carried into downstream processing.
Because completion is no longer limited to two outcomes, two metrics changed:
- The Clinical review stats panel reports Reviewed instead of separate Approved and Rejected counts.
- The template Overview tab reports Completion rate instead of Approval rate.
For more information, see Review a summary and Clinical review reference.
