Document Understanding Release Notes
Release date: 11 November 2025
Document Understanding™ 2.2510 LTS Release
Continuous support for API keys
Even though API Key authentication was removed for Automation Cloud™ services, Document Understanding™ is an exception to this. In terms of security, API key authentication in Document Understanding is as safe as Personal Access Tokens (PATs). Therefore, you can continue using API keys to access model endpoints, while keeping your UiPath resources secure.
For more information about the API key removal and the transition to PATs, visit Removed features or capabilities and Migrating from API keys to Personal Access Tokens (PATs).
Unified Pricing, an innovative licensing model
Unified Pricing brings new licensing plans, user licenses, and a consolidated consumption unit. Furthermore, Document Understanding is now available through Unified Pricing, and its license consumption is measured by Platform Units.
For more information on this new licensing model, visit the Unified pricing: Licensing plan framework page. For overview licensing information, refer to the Automation Cloud admin guide and the Overview guide.
This release brings security updates to address CVE-2025-55315
IPv6 connectivity is not fully supported in this release. Some network components may not function as expected when IPv6 is enabled.
- The Autoretrain feature in Document Understanding may not work in certain OpenShift environments. The scheduled retraining process is removed by the underlying platform, resulting in a silent failure where Autoretrain does not occur.
- Erratum - added December 16, 2025: The Import OOB Packages page in AI Center fails to load and appears blank, even after importing the required offline bundle. This occurs despite correct user permissions and valid AI Units licensing.
Document Understanding application icon not visible
The Document Understanding application icon is intended to be visible in the Automation Suite portal left rail and used only when Modern Document Understanding projects are enabled on the tenant.
Modern Document Understanding can be enabled only if the required infrastructure prerequisites are met, including the availability of multiple GPUs. If these prerequisites are not in place before enabling Modern Document Understanding, it will not function correctly.
