Configure policies on macOS (Preview)
Configure the UiPath Platform Installer governance policies on macOS through a configuration profile deployed by your device management (MDM) solution.
The UiPath Platform Installer for macOS is in Public Preview. Preview features are not recommended for production use.
On macOS, you configure the UiPath Platform Installer policies with a configuration profile, deployed through your device management (MDM) solution. The policies are the same as on Windows. For what each one does, refer to Governance controls.
Available settings
Use the preference domain com.uipath.platform with any of these keys:
| Key | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
DownloadRootLocation | String | Internal URL or folder to download updates from, instead of UiPath. |
MaxAllowedVersion | String | Highest version Macs can update to. |
MaxPostponeDays | Integer | Days users can postpone an update. 0 turns off postponing. Default: 1. |
AutoUpdateDisabled | Boolean | true turns off automatic updates. |
The settings apply to the whole Mac.
Deploy the settings
-
In your MDM solution, create a configuration profile with a custom settings payload (for example, Application & Custom Settings in Jamf Pro, or a Preference file in Microsoft Intune).
-
Set the preference domain to
com.uipath.platform. -
Add the settings you want. For example:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>MaxPostponeDays</key> <integer>3</integer> </dict> </plist><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>MaxPostponeDays</key> <integer>3</integer> </dict> </plist> -
Assign the profile to your Macs.
Result
The UiPath Platform Installer applies the settings the next time it checks for updates. No restart is needed.
Check the applied settings
On a managed Mac, run:
defaults read "/Library/Managed Preferences/com.uipath.platform"
defaults read "/Library/Managed Preferences/com.uipath.platform"
The output lists the settings delivered by the configuration profile.
